Growing up in Cocoa Beach, Florida, I always had a love for key lime pie, but I quickly grew bored of buying from restaurants and grocery stores that cater to the palate of snow birds and tourists. Offering bland, lackluster versions that just didn’t cut it. One day, while exploring the backwoods of my horse farm, I stumbled upon a cluster of wild native orange trees. Curious, I peeled one and took a bite—YUCK! My face scrunched up as if lightning had struck! In that moment of pucker, inspiration hit me like a bolt. And so, Pucker Pies were conceived—bold, unapologetically sour, vibrant pies made for those who crave the true taste of Florida.
